    Overview

    Drodex provides contract support to the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR), which is a public health preparedness and emergency response organization in the Office of the Secretary at the United States Department of Health and Human Services. ASPR was created under the Pandemic and All Hazards Preparedness Act in the wake of Hurricane Katrina to lead the nation in preventing, preparing for, and responding to the adverse health effects of public health emergencies and disasters. The Immediate Office (IO) is the executive leadership program office within ASPR. This role will support the Office of Legislative Affairs, which is placed within the IO.

    Position: Legislative Affairs Analyst (GAO/OIG Audit Support)

    Location: Hybrid – 400 7th St SW, Washington, DC 20024

    Responsibilities

    • Support technical review and copy edit for documents for responding to Government Accountability Office audits
    • Support tracking of GAO audits and OIG inquiries including due dates for technical responses; scheduling support for meetings/conference calls; and drafting summaries and notes post calls/meetings with GAO and/or OIG representatives
    • Synthesize information provided from across the Department and outside agencies to enable the organization to discern key facts and issues
    • Collaborate with senior staff for comprehensive preparation of concept and position papers
    • Develop agency correspondence that communicates the intent on key issues
    • Coordinate across ASPR in answering GAO audits and OIG inquiries
    • Support tracking of GAO recommendations including supporting drafting of Statements of Assurance; supporting drafting of periodic updates to GAO on open recommendations

    Qualifications

    Required Education

    • Master's degree in relevant field

    Required Experience

    • Legislative or policy experience is a must
    • Provides subject matter expertise and leads team in this subject matter area
    • Develops plans, strategies, and programs
    • Analyzes and evaluates programs and provides metrics for improvement

    Desired Qualifications

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
