    WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail orientated bioengineer to join our growing team in a part-time or full-time capacity. The successful candidate will leverage their versatile skillset in applied engineering methods and cell biology to implement and refine gene editing pipelines on our microfluidics devices. They will also assist our engineering team to shape the development of the microfluidics device across various mammalian cell types, conditions and applications.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO

    • Translating gene editing protocols to work seamlessly with our micro-scale liquid handling device.
    • Assisting engineers in performing biological experiments.
    • Operating our microfluidic system to collect data. Develop, document, execute and analyze microfluidic testing experiments.
    • Assess viability and functionality of mammalian cells edited on-chip via pertinent cellular assays.
    • Maintain expertise on alternate methods, techniques and best practices used in the field of CRISPR gene editing and relevant automation strategies.
    • Maintaining human and mouse cell lines in tissue culture. Willingness to perform occasional weekend cell culture duties.

    ABOUT YOU

    • Recent graduate in Bioengineering or other related field. A minimum of 2 years research experience is required.
    • Must be comfortable with automation through electrical and computer engineering.
    • Past experience with microfluidics.
    • Familiar with basic cell and molecular biology techniques including mammalian cell culture, PCR, sample preparation, transfection, electroporation, gene editing.
    • Detail oriented, with excellent organizational and communication skills
    • Excellent data analysis and critical thinking skills
    • Demonstrated ability to thrive as an independent contributor in a fast-paced, small startup team environment

    NICE TO HAVE

    • Clean room experience, with soft photolithography skills.
    • Experience working with automation systems in laboratory environments (liquid handlers, electrophysiology equipment, flow cytometers, channel microfluidic systems, ...)
    • Past experience working with gene editing.

Direct applicants only. No agencies please.

Due to the stage of our company, we will be unable to apply for a visa for this role and will only accept candidates who are eligible to work in the US without the need for working visa. For Canadian citizens only, we are able to help navigate the visa application process.
