    What we're looking for

    Currently, we are seeking an enthusiastic and detail orientated bioengineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in genetic engineering of mammalian systems to implement and perfect gene editing pipelines for application on our microfluidics device. The scientist will also work closely with our engineering team to shape the development of the microfluidics device itself across various mammalian cell types and applications.

    Responsibilities

    Routinely benchmarking process performance in the macroscale (off-chip) vs. microscale (on-chip) across various delivery protocols 

    • Translating gene editing protocols to work seamlessly with our micro-scale liquid handling device

    Assess viability and functionality of mammalian cells edited on-chip via pertinent cellular assays (ie: RNA-Seq, ELISA, NGS, etc)

    Maintain expertise on alternate methods, techniques and best practices used in the field of CRISPR and gene editing and relevant automation strategies

    Qualifications

    • A recent PhD in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or Bioengineering that included 5+ years of expertise in mammalian cell culture, gene editing
    • Deep expertise in culturing and manipulating a wide variety of established and primary mammalian cell lines, with a preference for demonstrated skill working with primary human cell lines
    • Detail oriented, with excellent organizational and communication skills
    • Excellent data analysis and critical thinking skills
    • Demonstrated ability to thrive as an independent contributor in a fast-paced, small startup team environment

    Nice to have

    • Previous experience working in a startup environment
    • Familiar with laboratory automation
