About Bach to Rock Herndon

Bach to Rock Herndon is a performance-based music school offering private lessons, group classes, bands/ensembles, camps, events, and early childhood programs. Our students learn in a structured but modern environment designed to build real musical skills and confidence.

About This Position We are hiring a Drum Teacher for private lessons. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with kids, values professionalism, and can reliably deliver strong fundamentals while keeping lessons fun and goal-oriented. Students range from first-time drummers to intermediate players (advanced students depending on your background).

Key Responsibilities

Teach 30- and 60-minute drum lessons and guide student progress week to week.

Establish foundational skills: timing, stick control, coordination, reading basics, grooves/fills, and musicality.

Assign clear practice goals and communicate progress to families.

Support recitals and performance opportunities as applicable.

Maintain consistent availability and on-time attendance.

Qualifications

Demonstrated drumming proficiency and the ability to teach effectively.

Teaching experience or youth leadership experience strongly preferred.

Strong communication skills and a professional, kid-friendly approach.

Reliable transportation; consistent weekly availability.

Pay & Scheduling

Part-time, hourly (lesson-based; hours vary).

Peak: weekday afternoons/evenings + Saturdays.

Tiered pay: $17–$22/hr based on experience (Tier 1–3).
