Position Summary
The Dry Cleaning Presser is responsible for professionally pressing, finishing, and preparing garments for customer pickup while maintaining quality standards, garment care procedures, and workplace safety. This role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and the ability to safely operate pressing and finishing equipment in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operate dry cleaning press machines, steam equipment, and finishing tools safely and efficiently
Press and finish garments including shirts, pants, dresses, suits, uniforms, linens, and specialty fabrics
Inspect garments before and after pressing for stains, damage, missing buttons, or repair needs
Follow garment care labels and company quality standards
Maintain proper handling procedures to avoid garment damage or shrinkage
Organize completed garments for packaging and customer pickup
Assist with tagging, sorting, and staging garments as needed
Keep workstations clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance concerns to management
Meet daily productivity and quality expectations
Work cooperatively with team members and management to support production goals
Qualifications
Previous dry cleaning, laundry, pressing, tailoring, or garment finishing experience preferred but not required
Ability to learn pressing techniques and garment care procedures
Strong attention to detail and quality control
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
Dependable attendance and punctuality required
Ability to communicate professionally with coworkers and supervisors
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Frequent use of hands, arms, and repetitive motions
Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 25 pounds regularly
Ability to tolerate heat, steam, and humidity in production areas
Ability to bend, reach, and move throughout the work area safely
Work Environment
Indoor dry cleaning and garment production facility
Exposure to steam, heat, cleaning agents, and pressing equipment
Fast-paced production environment with daily deadlines
