Dryer Vent Wizard of Holladay is launching early 2024 and looking to grow rapidly in the Salt Lake Metro area. The owner has extensive operational and marketing experience and is excited to bring on a technician with aspirations of growing into broader field operations over time. Inspect dryer vent systems from the inside of the dryer to outside the premises
Provide a quote for service based on the inspection

Dryer Vent Wizard of Holladay is looking for its first Service Technician. Ideally someone who is optimistic, looking to grow within the business, and confident figuring things out by doing. Service Technicians are responsible for dryer vent cleaning service and maintenance in residential, multi-unit, and commercial locations. Our ideal technician is comfortable working autonomously, offering and fulfilling add-on services when a customer is in need, and following the system implemented by ownership.
No certifications or previous dryer vent or duct cleaning experience required so this is a great opportunity for someone looking to make a career change from food service, sales, civil service or other customer-facing roles. Stable Monday through Friday schedule with no emergency jobs or required after-hours work. Earn more and finish early by being efficient and hitting targets.
Responsibilities:
Service all scheduled daily appointments with a target of 3 to 5 per day depending on complexity
Utilize job-tracking software to communicate with admin team and customers
Complete the 10-point inspection at every stop and clearly review with customers
Test airflow, photograph vents, and complete post-work readings
Effectively explain the features and benefits of service to customers
Bring opportunities to improve dryer vent system to the attention of our customers
Effectively price and complete jobs according to price book
Utilize various tools and supplies necessary to complete dryer vent cleaning service
Install new duct, vent, connections and other components as needed
Take payment from customer (via credit card, apple pay, or venmo)
Keep service van clean, organized, and fully stocked to ensure one-stop completion
Communicate with management regularly about progress, issues, or opportunities for improvement
Think critically and work diligently, with a bias toward action
Dress in clean uniform and maintain personal hygiene
Drive safely and respectfully
Requirements:
Highschool diploma
Clean driving record
High integrity
Ability to comfortably lift as much as 50 lbs.
Ability to handle and climb ladders up to 20 feet high and work on rooftops
Comfort working in inclosed spaces like attics, closets, etc.
Comfort working in and outdoors as needed
Proficient working with tablet-based technology
Ability to work required business hours, full-time (M-F 8a-6p)

Must have valid drivers license and clean driving record
Must pass background check
Preferred, not required:
HVAC, electrical, plumbing, dryer vent cleaning, duct cleaning or similar service experience
Off duty or former police, EMS, Fire or other related fields
Previous experience in customer service or sales role
Willing to take service vehicle home every night
Live within 10 miles of service area (Salt Lake Metro)

Compensation:
$22 to $25 per hour ($44,000 - $50,000/yr) with the potential to earn upwards of $35 per hour ($70,000/yr) with sales & efficiency performance bonuses. Guaranteed 30 hours to start as schedule fills with expectation of 40 hours+ as technician ramps up and business continues to grow.
