    About the Role

     

    Post L Drywall is seeking a Lead Drywall & Metal Framing Estimator to join our team in Fort Worth. This position will lead the estimating effort for commercial drywall, light-gauge metal framing, and architectural specialty scopes.

    This is a technical leadership role focused on estimating strategy, pricing consistency, and bid selection—not people management or sales. You’ll play a key role in shaping how projects are pursued and priced, while serving as a resource to other estimators.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for:

      • Drywall

      • Metal stud framing

      • Insulation

      • Architectural specialty products

    • Review drawings, specifications, and addenda

    • Prepare accurate, competitive bid proposals

    • Use OST (On-Screen Takeoff), Quick Bid, and BuzzBid

    • Manage estimating databases, assemblies, and labor factors

    • Oversee the bid schedule and pipeline in BuildingConnected

    • Solicit and evaluate vendor and supplier pricing

    • Identify scope gaps, risks, and exclusions before submission

    • Coordinate with project management and operations teams

    • Assist with value engineering and post-bid clarifications

    • Analyze bid history, hit rates, and pricing trends

    • Provide technical guidance to other estimators

    • Maintain organized estimating files and historical data

     

    Required Qualifications

    • 5+ years estimating commercial drywall and metal framing

    • Experience with a commercial drywall subcontractor

    • Hands-on estimating from takeoff through bid submission

    • Proficiency with OST (On-Screen Takeoff)

    • Experience using Quick Bid and/or BuzzBid

    • Strong plan-reading skills (architectural and details)

    • Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines

    • Willing to work full-time in Fort Worth, TX (no fully remote)
