    OVERVIEW

    Duck Camp is an outdoor brand focused primarily on hunt/fish, looking to improve the industry with premium performance apparel delivered with a message focused on the communal, laid back, and social aspects of outdoor pursuits. 

    Duck Camp is seeking a VP of Marketing that will drive the organizational and strategic direction of our brand to build awareness across our core demographic while maintaining true authenticity in all pursuits. As VP of Marketing you'll be a key stakeholder with specific responsibility for everything from customer insight and messaging/creative to media and the day-to-day management of the customer experience. You will lead a team that manages all Earned (PR, social), Owned (eCommerce, email) and Paid media channels, as well as all internal and external creative partners. You will ensure that our brand and product stories are authentic, consistent and compelling and that our channels are increasingly effective and efficient.

    The ideal candidate will have deep experience developing and telling brand stories to a wide range of audiences.  They will also have embraced Reed Hastings' and Patty McCord's approach to creating and embracing a “culture of freedom and responsibility” in the teams they lead.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Advocate for the Customer within the organization, working cross-functionally with the Product Team to ensure the full product story is being told in a compelling and authentic way

    • Lead the creation of the overall Marketing and Creative strategy, in partnership with your direct reports, ensuring that we are driving brand and business growth through effective messaging and efficient media strategies

    • Lead the in-house creative team to create a consistent and relevant brand and product messaging across all consumer touchpoints

    • Define and uphold brand visual and copy standards

    • Partner with Product on GTM process; define key marketing gates to ensure all packaging, copy and collateral is complete prior to launch

    • Develop site merchandising strategy that connects with a marketing plan across all channels, to drive improved conversion rate and ultimately ROAS

    • Leveraging all channels to continue to build a high-quality customer base and drive customer acquisition

    • Develop a strategy for and drive customer retention through CRM/ life-cycle marketing, including but not limited to email

    • Maintain a robust community marketing program that ensures a clear and constant pathway for communication with the most enthusiastic users of our products.

    • Oversee the creation and management of world-class creative assets by leveraging our own network of unique and innovative photographers and videographers while constantly seeking out new and emerging talent.

    • Budget effectively across your marketing channels, track spend and keep track of impact

    • Develop direct reports by setting a high bar, communicating clear expectations, and giving them frequent feedback and coaching

    DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

    • 10+ years' experience of developing and executing against marketing strategies across a range of channels and customer touchpoints
    • 5+ years' experience working through eCommerce to drive significant Direct-to-Consumer revenue.
    • A passion for the customer and building brands, with a track record of re-inventing how it's done
    • Experience working in consumer businesses that sell a physical product and or service
    • A strategic mindset, and are wired to operate
    • A bias for action, creating action plans based on data, as well as on a healthy dose of intuition
    • Experience managing online and offline marketing channels, traditional (e.g. TV), and non-traditional (e.g. Instagram), with KPIs ranging from awareness to CPA/ROAS
    • Experience managing multi-functional in-house teams and external agencies
    • Excellent judgment and are able to act decisively in situations requiring quick but thorough analysis and decision-making
    • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to influence your peers and an organization, as well as to inspire and motivate a team to constantly outdo themselves
    • Strong communication skills, and are able to prioritize and re-prioritize based on changing business needs
    • An entrepreneurial spirit and are excited by the challenges that come along with building a disruptive business
