    Job Description

Location: Opelika, AL Type: Internship Min. Experience: Entry Level

Ballistic Agency helps our clients and our team members reach their potential, and Ballistic wants to do that for you (assuming you want to do that for yourself!).  If you are a talented web developer with a lot of potential, you have a passion for all things digital, and you feel that you can learn a thing or two from Ballistic, but you lack the necessary experience to show off your skills in your portfolio, then Ballistic Agency's Apprenticeship Program (BAAP) may be for you.

    BAAP - What is it?

BAAP is a 12 week apprenticeship program for web developers. You will work side by side with our experienced team members and be mentored in high-level digital initiatives by our team, which includes our Creative Director, Project Manager and from time to time, Ballistic’s CEO.

You will be part of the team, participating in Ballistic events such as our lunch-n-learns, range days, happy hours and more.

What Does the Apprenticeship Look Like?

You will have two main initiatives during your apprenticeship. The first is to learn. Ballistic will provide a web design and development resource track for you to follow, take and complete during your 12 week apprenticeship.

Your second initiative is to get real-world experience. You will help the team design and develop digital solutions, and the goal is for you to work on at least two major initiatives that can be used in your portfolio. You will have access to the team for questions, guidance and direction to hone your skills and build better understanding.

    What’s the Goal?

The goal is to help position you for a full time position with a company, whether that be another company or Ballistic. BAAP should provide you the necessary skill development, portfolio, and professional reference at the end of your apprenticeship to help you land a full time position.

    Is this a Paid Apprenticeship?

Yes, a Ballistic apprenticeship pays $1,250 per every consecutive 30 days you are in BAAP. Since most apprentices may be looking for employment outside of Ballistic during the apprenticeship, we understand that full time offers may be extended during the apprenticeship cutting the 12 week program short. We would appreciate a two week notice should you receive an outside job offer.

    What is Expected of Me?

From a time standpoint, a minimum of 20 hours per week is expected for working on Ballistic projects. Online training resources that Ballistic provides is on your own time and should be completed during the apprenticeship.

We expect that you will have your own equipment and your own software. Ballistic uses Macs and Adobe Creative Suite and will expect you will have a late model/version of each. We will expect that you treat your apprenticeship like a job. You’ll show up on time, be responsible and be a great team member/employee. You will be a part of Ballistic during your 12 weeks, and we’ll expect you will adhere to our employee expectations and guidelines.

What Happens When the Apprenticeship is Over?

The ultimate goal of BallisticAP is to help you gain experience, refine web development skills and help you get a full time position with an organization. That organization may be Ballistic if we mutually feel there’s a fit AND Ballistic has an open position at the end of your apprenticeship. If we do not have an open position, then there could be an opportunity for freelance work if you are interested. Our intent is to help you get relevant experience so you can get employed regardless of if it’s with Ballistic or another organization. If you’re interested in Ballistic full time (and we share that interest), we’ll do the best we can to work with you on an ongoing basis, whether that will be full time or freelance.

    How Can I Apply?

BallisticAP is offered by application only. You can apply online. Please note that we are highly selective in who we take on as an apprentice due to the time and investment our firm will make in accepted candidates. We are looking for those that have a high-level of talent (you know who you are), have a lot of potential, are smart, a quick learner and have a great passion for digital marketing.

If this sounds exciting to you, we welcome you to Apply to Ballistic’s Apprenticeship Program for web developers.
