    We are hiring for a Human Resource Generalist in Duluth, MN to excel in providing broad HR coverage in our growing business.

    1-3 years’ experience preferred.

    Paid Time Off (PTO) starts accruing on day ONE and is available after your first 90 days.

    Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.· Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are incompliance.· Recruits, interviews, and selects employees to fill vacant positions.· Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.· Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.· Trains management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, and safety.· Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.· Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.· Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.· Administers salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within organization.· Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, simple IRA, PTO, leave of absence, and employee assistance.· Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate.· Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.· Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier.· Administers and maintains OSHA mandated HazCom training program, AWAIR, and Worker’s Compensation Process when Safety Coordinator is not available.· Respond to requests for employment verification and unemployment claims from appropriate agencies. Requirements· This individual must have a genuine passion and curiosity for all things HR· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business· At least 1-3 years of hands-on experience managing day to day HR administration, and recruiting hourly workforce (preferred, but not a must)· Skilled listener with high empathy and emotional intelligence· Demonstrated knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines· Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local employment laws· Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations· Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidential information· Strong research and problem-solving skills· Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations· Excellent interpersonal and communications skills · Self-confident with a strong sense of personal accountability· Ability to self-motivate and re-prioritize quickly as needs change· Good Computer Skills; Proficient at Microsoft and Google Suites, especially MS Excel· Is positive, upbeat, and has funWork Environment The HR Generalist works in an office environment using a computer for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours per day. The HR Generalist will consistently interact with applicants, employees, managers, and outside agencies in person, over the phone, and through digital communication. The HR Generalist will be expected to simultaneously carry out multiple tasks of varying complexity and be able to effectively prioritize tasks.
