Dunavant provides solutions within the four main service verticals – global, freight, distribution, and consulting. 

    JOB DESCRIPTION: TECHNICAL BUSINESS ANALYST

    This person works with subject matter experts and systems engineers to analyze and document technical and functional requirements for projects essential to Dunavant’s business, applications, and data management. The candidate will perform detailed requirements analysis, document processes, and perform some user acceptance testing. Successful candidates must have strong problem-solving skills and be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Research customer requirements and available technology solutions. 
    • Create detailed functional specifications and work breakdown structures for new integrations, modifications, defect corrections, and enhancements. 
    • Create business and data process models utilizing UML, Wireframing, User Stories, etc. 
    • Document integrated quality assurance tests on system changes before they are released to users. 
    • Collaborate with Software Engineers to ensure effective solutions are delivered. 
    • Collaborate with end users to perform user acceptance testing on system changes before they are released to production. 
    • Document implementation and support plans, configure systems, train users and provide post-implementation support to resolve data-related problems with logistics information systems.

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

    Successful candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or a combination of education, training and experience equivalent to possession of a bachelor's degree with the following:

    • 2+ years of experience as a technical business analyst 
    • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
    • The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.

    OPTIONAL SKILLS:

    • Experience working in an agile environment. 
    • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) configuration, development and implementation: CargoWise, Mercurygate, or Truckmate a plus. 
    • Expertise and experience in at least one of the following business disciplines: supply chain management, warehousing, transportation or distribution 
    • Experience with Python, Django, and AWS. 
    • Experience with XML, REST Soap, EDI - Electronic Data Interchange, Electronic Data Interchange 
    • Experience using SQL for data analysis, extraction, troubleshooting and reporting 
    • Experience with the ELK stack:  Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana.

    Duties are primarily performed in an office environment. Minimal physical effort is required. Lifting and carrying requirements of up to 15 pounds. Occasional or frequent ability to move boxes from one location to another.
