Job Description and Responsibilities

The Vice President of Sales & Marketing plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates the activities of the Sales and Marketing department. The individual is responsible for building and executing the sales and marketing plan to achieve Duncaster’s annual metrics. Responsibilities include leading the sales team to meet monthly sales objectives, include marketing plan development and execution, budget planning and management, advertising, and media. Excellent leadership and communication skills are necessary to be a strategic partner to Senior Management, Board of Directors, and Residents.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develops and implements annual marketing strategy and plans.
• Develops and manages the department budget to support the marketing & sales strategy by monitoring all expenses and staying within budgetary constraints.
• Meets or exceeds occupancy goals.
• Manages advertising and media.
• Manages digital marketing strategy, including website, and oversee implementation.
• Oversees development of collateral and promotional materials to support sales.
• Manages Duncaster sponsorship initiatives.
• Partners with Duncaster agency to plan and execute media, advertising, direct mail and other consumer communications to build brand awareness in the community.
• Represents Duncaster at outside events.
• Has a working knowledge of the Residency and Care Agreements.
• Partners with Board Marketing Chair to lead Board Marketing Committee meetings.
• Actively participates in senior leadership planning and strategy meetings.
• Awareness of competition comparisons and knowledge of competitions.
• Coaches and develops each team member to maximize professional development and growth.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or other relevant degree (MBA preferred), and minimum 10 years Sales or marketing experience is required.

• Experience with senior sales and marketing, goal oriented and success driven.

• A proven track record in both leading departments/teams and achieving sales targets.

• Ability to be strategic and develop a plan to ensure growth and occupancy of the community.

• Innovative thinker who can initiate new ideas and generate solutions.

• Experience with advertising planning, agency management, and media planning and execution

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Able to work collaboratively with a diverse group of internal and external constituents across all levels of the organization.

• Workable knowledge of computers and software including Microsoft Office, Excel, Windows, and lead management software. ****

• Ability to coach and develop talent both within the team and across organization.
