  • Responsibilities

    The Sales Administrator/Cashier will run background checks for firearm purchases as welluse cash registers, electronic scanners, and related equipment to conduct monetary transactions with customers.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Greets customers as they enter the location.

    • Accepts money in the form of cash, checks, and credit or debit cards for items purchased; validates checks.

    • Assists customers with questions on Federal form 4473 for background check and price checks.

    • Ensures accurate transactions by balancing cash register at the beginning and end of shift, and sales at the end of shift.

    • Process returns and exchanges according to store policy.

    • Identifies prices of products and services and tabulates bills with available equipment.

    • Assist customers in locating various products, resolving complaints, or providing information.

    • Bag, box and wrap purchased items.

    • Provide friendly and professional customer service on the sales floor and on the telephone.

    • Work as a team with fellow staff to assist with customer questions and needs.

    • Stock and back-stock products accurately in the proper location.

    • Maintain store cleanliness.

    • Be familiar with distributors and be able to accurately record and process any requests for special orders.

    • Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions.

    • Answer any customer questions or concerns about purchasing a firearm.

    • Understand the procedures for, and assist customers with sales, trades and layaways.

    • Ships and/or transfers firearms as requested.

    • Practice sound safety knowledge and best practices for materials handling.

    • Follows all Company policies and procedures.

    • Stays abreast of all ATF laws and regulations.

    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

    • Excellent customer service skills.

    • Good verbal communication skills.

    • Ability to operate available equipment, such as cash registers, calculators, or scanners.

    • Basic mathematical skills, as needed to make change and give refunds.

    • Knowledgeable about company’s products and services, and customer-related policies.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.

    • Retail cashier or retail sales experience.

    • Prior knowledge and experience with firearms preferred.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Prolonged periods standing and working on cash register or related equipment.

    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

    • May need to work weekends and holidays.

    • Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time.
