    SUMMARY

    Duvel Moortgat USA is looking for a full-time staff accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant 1 will support Duvel USA – the organization that markets and sells our beers and beverages, as well as our brewery production facilities and organizations: Boulevard Brewing Company in Kansas City, MO and Brewery Ommegang in Cooperstown, NY.

    This position will own a portion of the front-to-back accounts payable and freight processes, raw material inventory reconciliations and accounts payable aging. This role will also own the postings and related reconciliations of a selection of general ledger accounts.

    The perfect candidate has a passion for accounting and process efficiency, has strong attention to detail, and is comfortable collaborating with departments outside of Finance as well as with our customers and vendors.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Accurately and timely processes accounts payable and freight for several entities and vendors

    Establishes and maintains relationships with new and existing vendors

    Participates in the month-end close process

    Generates and posts journal entries

    Completes balance sheet account reconciliations

    Identifies opportunities for process improvement and works with others as necessary to improve processes

    Assist with the annual audit and requests from audit staff

    Perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis as requested

    KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

    A degree in finance, accounting, business or related field

    1-3 years relevant accounting experience

    Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, lookups and charts a plus!)

    Experience with intercompany accounting a plus

    Experience with Microsoft Navision and Business Central a plus

    Experience with electronic payment systems a plus

    Strong attention to detail
