Dwell has championed contemporary home design for more than two decades and currently reaches an audience of more than 40 million annually. We are seeking a versatile digital art editor to create video and photography-driven content for a variety of platforms. The digital art editor will play a key role in Dwell's video program, helping us grow the scope of our creative content and our ability to reach a wider audience on existing and emerging channels. Above all, we're looking for a motivated, talented, and collaborative person to join our creative team.
This role can be based in New York City or San Francisco.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Shape the creative direction for social media-first visual content and manage it's planning, production, and growth
- Edit short videos including subtitling, graphics, and captions for multiple platforms
- Create visuals and animations for a variety of channels, reformatting and editing as needed
- Commission video, art, and animation
- Help select story subjects, develop visual treatments, and refine ideas with a spirit of experimentation
- Adapt creative strategy based on audience analytics
- Provide general day-to-day support for the photo director and art directors
ABOUT YOU
- You are a natural visual storyteller with a deft eye for scroll-stopping photography, video, and art direction
- You have 4-5 years of experience developing short-form visual content and have a proven record of creating engaging work for multiple social media channels
- You are passionate about developing groundbreaking, visually stunning content for emerging platforms
- You are proficient with Adobe suite—InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere—and common animation software tools
- You are adept at storyboarding visual content, managing freelance creative teams, and commissioning photography, video, text, and design work
- You have an entrepreneurial attitude and love working with collaborative, tight-knit teams
- You can think strategically while also being organized, creative, and productive
- You are familiar with Dwell's legacy, and you're interested in how architecture and home design shapes the way we live
