The company has invested heavily in modernizing its technology stack, including the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) to drive operational efficiency and better data visibility.

    They are seeking a Business Central Techno-Functional Consultant to immediately assist with troubleshooting, stabilizing, and optimizing their existing BC environment. This is a hands-on consulting opportunity where you will blend technical acumen with functional expertise to restore workflows, resolve integration issues, and ensure BC is configured and operating effectively across the business.

    This role is ideal for a Business Central “rockstar” who can jump in, assess a messy situation, and turn it around. It offers the chance to make a visible impact, working closely with executive leadership and finance stakeholders to align the system with real business needs.

    The Role You’ll Play

    As the Business Central Consultant, you’ll serve as both a technical troubleshooter and functional advisor—bridging the gap between business users, IT, and external partners. You’ll be responsible for debugging and developing in AL, cleaning up integrations, and ensuring BC workflows support daily finance and operations functions.

    • Assess the current BC environment and identify areas where workflows, integrations, or configurations are broken or incomplete.

    • Debug issues in Visual Studio and perform AL development and modifications as needed.

    • Collaborate with the new Controller to ensure all financial functionality and processes are configured properly.

    • Work directly with the VP of IT to stabilize and optimize the BC platform post-implementation.

    • Correct and enhance integrations between BC and other business systems.

    • Create, test, and document custom extensions or workflows to align BC with operational needs.

    • Provide user support, functional guidance, and documentation for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

    • Serve as a liaison with external partners (offshore vendor, Microsoft support) as needed.

    Background Profile:

    The ideal candidate will be a hands-on Business Central professional with both technical and functional depth—someone who can diagnose and fix problems in AL code one day and meet with the Controller the next to refine process workflows.

    • 3+ years of experience supporting and configuring Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (or NAV).

    • 2+ years of AL development experience (Visual Studio Code / VS environment).

    • Experience debugging and troubleshooting custom extensions, integrations, and APIs.

    • Strong understanding of BC architecture, table structure, and business logic.

    • Functional knowledge of Finance, Accounting, and Operations workflows within BC.

    • Experience with integrations and data migrations between BC and external systems.

    • Excellent communication skills and ability to partner across technical and finance teams.

    Preferred:

    • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and report writing.

    • Familiarity with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps).

    • Prior experience rescuing or remediating problematic BC implementations.

    • MB-800 certification or equivalent Microsoft Dynamics credentials.
