    Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer to support the design, installation, and maintenance of power and control systems in our plant. The E&I Engineer will be responsible for ensuring reliable operation of electrical distribution equipment, instrumentation loops, and control systems, while maintaining compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety practices.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design & Engineering

      • Develop and review single-line diagrams, loop diagrams, wiring schematics, cable schedules, and I/O lists.
      • Specify, size, and select cables, conduit, control panels, junction boxes, instruments, and protective devices.
      • Ensure proper grounding, shielding, and segregation of power and control wiring.
      • Prepare and review technical specifications, datasheets, and equipment requisitions.
    • Project Execution

      • Support installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems.
      • Coordinate with contractors and construction teams to ensure correct implementation of drawings and standards.
      • Troubleshoot and resolve field issues related to power, instrumentation, or control systems.
      • Interface with automation engineers to ensure seamless integration with PLCs/DCS/SCADA systems.
    • Operations & Maintenance

      • Provide ongoing support for the operation of motors, drives, switchgear, MCCs, UPS systems, transmitters, analyzers, and control valves.
      • Develop and execute maintenance procedures, calibration plans, and reliability improvements.
      • Ensure documentation (as-built drawings, test reports, loop checks) is accurate and up to date.
    • Compliance & Safety

      • Ensure compliance with NEC/IEC, ISA, IEEE, NFPA, OSHA and company-specific standards.
      • Contribute to hazard and operability (HAZOP), SIL/LOPA, and risk assessments.
      • Champion safe work practices for electrical and instrumentation activities.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering , Instrumentation Engineering, or related field.
    • 3–8 years of relevant experience in process plants (oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, chemical, or related industries).
    • Strong knowledge of low-voltage power distribution, instrumentation systems, PLC/DCS control, and industrial communication protocols.
    • Proficiency in engineering software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN, ETAP, or similar).
    • Familiarity with control philosophies, loop tuning, and process safety systems is an advantage.

    Key Skills

    • Strong understanding of electrical and control system design.
    • Ability to read and develop P &IDs, wiring diagrams, and control narratives.
    • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

    Typical Deliverables

    • Single-line diagrams and load lists.
    • Cable/conduit routing layouts.
    • Instrument loop diagrams and termination drawings.
    • Panel wiring diagrams and I/O schedules.
    • Equipment datasheets and technical specifications.
    • Commissioning procedures and test reports.
