Job Summary:
The E&I (Electrical and Instrumentation) Technicianc maintains and troubleshoots electrical systems within our manufacturing facility. This position requires an individual with a solid foundation in electrical work, a commitment to safety, and a desire to continuously learn and apply their skills in a complex industrial environment. You will work within a team-oriented setting, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our machinery and systems.
Schedule and Pay:
This position works a standard Mon to Thu 7am-5:30 (10 hrs/day) and participates in a rotating coverage for nights and weekends.
Pay is from $22.58- $26.50 + incentives and benefits including health insurance and a generous 401k (5% match). Overtime potential.
Responsibilities:
- System Interpretation: Read, interpret, and work effectively from electrical diagrams to understand and maintain complex systems.
- Conduit and Wiring Expertise: Demonstrate a strong understanding of conduit, fittings, and wire terminations, ensuring high-quality installations and repairs.
- Code Compliance: Apply the National Electric Code (NEC), ensuring all work adheres to safety and regulatory standards.
- PLC Involvement: Become actively involved in the study and application of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
- Instrumentation Basics: Possess a basic understanding of both electronic and pneumatic instrumentation systems.
- Troubleshooting Skills: Safely and properly use a Voltmeter (VOM) and Mega ohm Meter to troubleshoot de-energized electrical circuits, accurately diagnosing issues.
- Collaboration: Work effectively with colleagues and other departments to ensure seamless operations and problem resolution.
- Safety First: Maintain a safety-minded approach in all actions, prioritizing personal safety and the safety of others.
Qualifications:
- Experience: at least 3 years of electrical experience preferred.
- Technical Acumen: Ability to understand electrical diagrams, conduit systems, and basic instrumentation.
- Code Knowledge: Knowledge of the National Electric Code.
- Troubleshooting Tools: Proficient and safe use of VOM, Mega ohm Meter, and other tools for troubleshooting de-energized circuits.
- Learning Agility: Eagerness to learn and become actively involved in understanding PLC applications and other Jackson Paper-specific electrical systems.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work safely and effectively in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Capable of standing, walking, bending, reaching, and performing repetitive motions for extended periods.
