  • Responsibilities

    Operators will be loading a machine that does welding, tapping, assembly and unloading parts to and from fixtures. The operator will be responsible for operating one or more machines to fabricate metal parts or assemblies to specifications, applying basic knowledge of manufacturing theory on production basis.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Additional job duties may be assigned.

    • Inspects and measures machined work pieces to verify conformances to specifications.

    • Unload parts from machine, inspects parts for quality and place in appropriate containers.

    • Examines finished work pieces to verify conformance with specifications according to operator inspection sheet, quality control plans and/or customer notes using instruments such as gauges.

    • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.

    • Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards.

    • Change perishable tooling as required (taps, tips, etc.).

    • Basic understanding of computers and ability to perform computer functions as they pertain to the job.

    • Demonstrated detail orientation, self-motivation skills and ability to multi-task

    • Competent at basic dimensional measuring and able to quickly learn the use of precision measurement tools.

    • Demonstrated ability to effectively implement or respond to change.

    • Working safely as a condition of employment.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS:

    To effectively carry out duties and responsibilities in the job position the following education, experience, or certifications are preferred/required:

    Education (Required):

    • High School Diploma or GED.

    Experience (Preferred):

    • One or more years of experience in the industry.

    • Hands on experience.

    ADDITIONAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

    To effectively carry out duties and responsibilities in the job position the following skills are required:

    Computer skills (Preferred):

    • Experience with basic computer systems.

    Communication skills (Required):

    • Speak effectively with fellow employees.

    • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, etc.

    • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    Mathematical skills (Required):

    • Apply mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

    Other Skills (Preferred):

    • Detail oriented.

    • Organized and able to meet deadlines while performing multiple duties.

    • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
