RESPONSIBILITIES The Assistant Controller will be responsible for providing the following to our CFO clients:

• Liaise with the fund administrators for shadowing of the books, preparation of monthly estimates, ensuring NAV is correct, assistance with financial statement preparation, valuation of the portfolio, annual audit and tax work.
• Review all monthly items including the operating expense schedules, month end close packages containing financial statements and supporting files, transparency reports, and investor statements
• Review and approval of month end accounting records from administrator and full set of parallel books and records
• Responsible for the review of financial statements, including all statements and disclosures, and coordination of timely completion of audit
• Assist and oversee daily portfolio reconciliations and trade review on internal portfolio management system, liaising with prime brokers and custodians
• Play an active role in the onboarding of the acquisition of an additional hedge fund and also assist in the launch and execution of several new single-strategy funds
• Review of fund's capital calls and distributions, and fund expense payments and budgeting
• Provide corporate accounting department with regular reporting of revenues, AUM and performance
• Liaise with other functional areas within the Firm as well as outside service providers
• Ad-Hoc requests and special projects as necessary
• Assist compliance team with regulatory filings. QUALIFICATIONS BACKGROUND:
• 3-5years' experience in a corporate environment in the financial services industry
• A mix of hedge fund operations and accounting experience is preferred
• Hedge fund experience across a range of strategies highly regarded
• Experience working with a combination of investment, accounting, operations, technology, tax, compliance and legal teams.

EDUCATION/TECHNICAL:

• Undergraduate degree required, with focus in Accounting preferable
• Strong excel skills required
• Licensed CPA and EMS/OMS experience preferred.

• Strong accounting and organizational background necessary

• Base Salary in the $80k-100k (depending on experience)
