    WHAT IS IT LIKE TO WORK WITH US?

    POSITION SUMMARY

    As a server, you will be responsible for providing customers with an exceptional dining experience.  Duties will include taking food/drink orders, answering menu questions, serving food and ensuring customers have everything they need to enjoy their meals.  You will work in close collaboration with both front and back-of-house personnel in order to achieve the highest level of customer service. 

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Interact with guests in a friendly and positive manner
    • Ability to take food and drink orders from customers accurately and efficiently    
    • Process guest orders to ensure all items are prepared properly and on a timely basis
    • Pickup and deliver orders to patrons; supply proper condiments and accompaniments
    • Use the restaurant’s POS to ring in guest orders
    • Collect payments from customers
    • Answer customer questions about the menu, with the ability to make recommendations
    • Prepare and breakdown restaurant tables
    • Adhere to sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policies
    • Promptly address customer service issues and refer customers to management when necessary
    • Assist with special events or other projects as needed
    • Must be able and willing to work a flexible schedule to include days, nights, weekends and some holidays

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently
    • Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and deviations
    • Perform basic “sidework” tasks as needed or directed by supervisor
    • Help food preparation staff when needed
    • Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen/bar staff

    TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

    • Must be able to pass Responsible Service of Alcohol Test with a score of 90% or better
    • Must have or be able to obtain State applicable health and/or alcohol compliance card
    • Proven restaurant serving or hostessing experience a plus
    • High school diploma; previous food safety training considered a plus
    • Must be of legal age according to State regulations to serve alcohol

    SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

    • Basic reading and writing skills are required
    • Basic mathematical skills in order to make change
    • Hands on experience in cashier duties
    • Knowledge of workplace safety and food handling procedures
    • Must be able to suggestively sell food and beverage items
    • Basic computer skills

    ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • Must be able to walk and stand during entire shift
    • Continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop and wipe
    • Must be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food weighing up to 50 pounds
    • Frequent washing of hands
