POSITION SUMMARY
The Host/Hostess is responsible for promptly greeting guests at the door in a warm and friendly manner. Duties will include greeting and seating guests, maintaining the wait list and wait times and supplying guests with clean menus upon seating them.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Greet and seat guests, present menus to guests, inform them of specials and soups
- Maintain the waiting list
- Take guest information and quote wait times to guests accurately when tables are not immediately available
- Clean, organize and stock menus at host area
- Sweeping of foyer and front entrance area frequently
- Interact with guests upon arrival and as they leave the restaurant to ensure positive dining experience
- Answer phones and schedule reservations with large parties
- Other duties as directed
- Must be able and willing to work a flexible schedule to include days, nights, weekends and some holidays
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Fill to go orders, if applicable
- Help maintain restrooms throughout shift
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- Assist with opening/closing tasks and side work as needed
- Previous hosting experience preferred
- 1+ year customer service experience
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Basic reading and writing skills are required
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of workplace safety procedures
- Ability to determine wait time
- Must visually scan restaurant for clean, unoccupied tables

- Must be able to walk and stand during entire shift
- Reaches, bends and stoops frequently
