COOK/GRILL COOK
E.A.T. w/Culinary Professionals Inc. is looking for a Cook to prepare meals in accordance with customers’ preferences at the South Beach Mental Health Center in Staten Island, NY. A successful Cook/Grill Cook will be a skilled multi-tasker who can follow food safety codes and produce high quality meals.

Responsibilities
The Grill Cook’s responsibilities include preparing ingredients, making sure sufficient supplies are always available and cleaning the grill and equipment after each shift.
Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
Check food while cooking to stir or turn
Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
Prevent cross contamination
Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
Check quality of ingredients
Washes workstations, grills, pots, pans, and trays by hand.
Follows directives from Food Service Managers to run the kitchen efficiently
Requirements
Previous experience as a cook with competence on the grill in a commercial kitchen preferred/minimum 4-6 years
Knowledge of all food safety and sanitation procedures
Capacity to stand for long hours
Ability to follow directives from leadership team
Ability to work in a team; willingness to work with others with enthusiasm and respect
Particularly good communication skills
Must have NYC Food Sanitation Certificate
Excellent organizational and time management and multitasking skills
High school diploma or equivalent
Punctual and able to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays as asked
Ability to lift and carry at least 50 lbs. without assistance
Commitment to the production of high-quality outputs and excellent customer service.
Proof of vaccinations including Covid-19 are required for this position. Non vaccinated employees are required to provide weekly test results before reporting to the facility.
The following tests are needed for the clearance.
Tuberculosis screening - need 2 sets of PPD or Quantiferon TB gold test (blood test) if any of these test is positive, need a chest x-ray.
MMRV panel, Hepatitis B panel. (blood test)

Part Time: Five days per week 6:30 am – 3:30 pm (Shifts available Monday - Friday) $19.66hr
