    Job Description:

    The primary responsibility of the E-Learning STEM Course Content Designer will be to design and develop online engaging and interactive online courses according to an already outlined course. You will collaborate with subject matter experts from 21stCentEd to apply instructional design theories and methods that are relevant to today’s digital native learner, utilizing multimedia tools such as Animaker and H5P, as well as others, to enhance the learning process. The qualified candidate understands how educational tools should be designed, created and delivered within online courses for student groups grades PK-12. The qualified candidate will also embed what you create in 21stCentEd’s online platform Matrix LMS.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Create original, engaging, and interactive multimedia content, such as videos, animations, simulations, virtual experiments, coding activities, gamification, and hands-on projects, to enhance the virtual learning experience.

    2. Collaborate with subject matter experts regularly, instructional designers, and multimedia specialists from 21stCentEd to gather content, review materials including editing and proofreading content prior to publication, and ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of what is created.

    3. Produce original, engaging, interactive content appropriate for the target audience, learning objectives, and aligned with the pedagogical principles in the course outline design.

    4. Apply instructional design principles to structure and sequence what is created into the existing course outline design.

    5. Identify and integrate appropriate educational technologies, digital tools (i.e., Animaker and H5P), coding platforms, and other software to enhance the delivery and interactivity of the course outline design.

    6. Conduct quality assurance checks with the 21stCentEd team, ensuring product meets accessibility, usability, and instructional design standards while promoting inclusivity and diversity in STEM education.

    7. Measure the effectiveness of what is created through regular feedback, analysis, and assessment results. Make necessary revisions and improvements based on feedback to ensure the final product enhances student engagement and existing learning outcomes.

    8. Manage multiple course creation simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery within established timelines and budget constraints.

    9. Apply emerging trends, technologies, and research in STEM education and instructional design to meet the desired goals of the existing course outline design.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Preferred Master's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, Instructional Technology Learning Sciences, or a related degree with an E-Learning Instructional Design Certificate.

    • Strong knowledge of instructional design principles, game-based learning, learning theories, and pedagogical approaches specific to STEM education.

    • Preferred at least 5 years experience in developing STEM curricula in an online or e-learning environment, and/or LMS.

    • Proficiency in educational technology tools, which can include Animaker and H5P, coding platforms, other comparable platforms, and LMS platforms relevant to STEM education.

    • Excellent written, verbal communication, collaboration, and creative skills.

    • Strong organizational, time management, and project management abilities, able to adhere to deadlines.

    • Flexible and adaptable to team suggestions and a fast-paced remote work environment.

    • Self-starter, pays attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.

    • Proficiency with accessibility to standards and guidelines for online content.
