This position will be responsible for increasing the salience and marketability of Edify Services in Houston and surrounding area. The person will work closely with the Director of Business Development in order to develop and maintain excellent relationships to all stakeholders including prospective patient, family members, physicians, ICU and floor nurses, discharge planners, case managers, payer representatives and community stakeholders. The position may also require the facilitation of intake procedures (Signage of Consent Forms, Performing unit assessment to determine level of care, etc). As a plus, we would like someone who is willing and able to assist multi-disciplinary team in providing mental health and social services to Members according to treatment plan and Member-expressed needs and goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Pre-Admission Assessment
Maintains responsibility for patient referral until final disposition is determined, to include admission to Edify Behavioral.
Displays knowledge of behavioral health admissions criteria including Clinical Management of Behavioral Health Services and
Reviews medical record of referred Members and identifies all aspects related to pre-certification financial coverage and admission criteria.
After reviewing medical record and interviewing patient/family, obtains agency admission information to support the admission process; makes a recommendation regarding acceptance and level of care, and communicates status of admission to referral source as directed by the Intake department.
Orients Member and/or family to agency services. Educates supports and serves as a resource to family members of current, past and potential Members.
Communicates with Director, agency Intake department and agency CEO on a daily basis to optimize effectiveness.
Conducts follow up with referral sources to ensure satisfaction and service levels were met.
Business Development
Designs and manages the marketing strategies for his/her assigned territory.
Utilizes educational opportunities to present the Agency to referral sources.
Identifies contacts and manages potential referral sources
Uses prospecting methods to generate leads.
Participates in community events/activities.
Attends weekly Business Development meetings.
Assist CEO in developing marketing and informational material aimed at educating community concerning Edify Behavioral services.
Education
Identifies and educates new referral sources to Edify Behavioral programs and services.
Schedules educational inservices to educate referral services about Edify Behavioral Management programs and services
Communicates clearly, concisely and accurately.
Provides or arranges educational presentations to referral sources, families and to community members as requested.
Gathers information on mental health providers in the agencies service area and forwards to management, including opportunities for contracting with managed care companies and providers.
Documentation Reporting
Effectively maintains log of all referrals and admission processes
Provides periodic verbal/telephone/email update on activities and market trends as requested.
Maintains a resource library of articles and information for distribution to professionals, community members, families and potential Members to assist them in understanding agency services and the various disability groups served.
Customer Service
Maintains the highest level of customer service via courtesy, compassion and positive communication.
Respects dignity and confidentiality by adherence to all applicable policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Training: Degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum number of hours that is equivalent to a major in psychology, social work, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human growth and development, physician assistant, gerontology, special education, educational psychology, early childhood education, or early childhood intervention.
Experience: Must have experience working in a Behavioral Health Setting either as a Qualified Mental Health Professional Services, Intake Coordinator, or medical marketing.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Effective presentation and training skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Trained and Certified in facilitating and analyzing Unit Assessment Data including Adults Strengths and Needs Assessment (ANSA) and Child/Adolescents Strengths and Needs Assessment (CANS)
Effective crisis management skills, with demonstrated facilitation and problem solving experience.
Knowledge of patient rights and commitment to patient advocacy.
Ability to collect, document, and analyze data.
Word processing and data entry skills.
Network access to community, state, and national resources and health services organizations.
Excellent relationship management skills with referral sources.
