    PUBLIC POLICY / COMMUNICATIONS ANALYST

     We are a woman-owned management consulting and technical services firm based in Herndon, Virginia. Founded in 1999, we’ve established a solid track record of success in the planning, design, and implementation of a wide range of projects in the areas of event planning, peer review support, and information management. Our clients include Federal agencies, state and local units of government, private companies, and nonprofit organizations.

    We are recruiting for a Communications Analyst in Alexandria, Virginia. This position reports to the Project Director and also coordinates with the EDJ Management team and all staff on contract.

     POSITION SUMMARY: 

    • Provide expertise in measuring attitudes and actions among the policymakers at the national and local levels, Congress, general public, industry, science and education communities, media and other stakeholders, and analyze findings to improve, refine and enhance campaigns and other deliverables.
    • Assist in drafting evaluation results into an appropriate report format.
    • Assist in evaluating communication plans, digital engagement campaigns, projects, and products.
    • Provide integrated program expertise to assist with controlling, compiling, disseminating, analyzing, and reporting status for all projects.
    • Assist in the analysis of digital engagement policies, processes and procedures and recommend performance measurement goals.
    • Identify, compile, and analyze key data on the performance of all digital platforms to help inform strategy and decisions making to grow audience and increase engagement. 
    • Collaborates with program team, Federal clients and other stakeholders to ensure brand consistency

    QUALIFICATIONS ANDREQUIREMENTS:

    EDUCATION:

    A BS, MS or equivalent in marketing, journalism, communication or other related field is required.  

    EXPERIENCE:

    • 5+ years of experience in a public policy environment.
    • Expertise in using metrics programs and software (such as Google Analytics, media and social media tracking tools, etc.) to track and analyze communications.
    • Experience with the Federal Government is desired.
    • Preparation of research findings for publication and assistance with quality control, or data management.
    • Strong leadership, written/oral communications, analysis, data gathering and organization skills
    • Experience managing public policy related projects.
    • Well versed in life cycle and project management methodologies.
    • Experience in tracking costs, schedule and performance progress.
    • Ability to plan, schedule, and monitor task and project status to evaluate and recommend ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of work operations.
    • Ability to develop strategic messaging to convey information to diverse stakeholders
    • Ability to serve as a liaison and facilitator between stakeholders and the program office
    • Experience with creating comprehensive social media and communication strategies, using social media marketing technologies to increase visibility, customer and traffic across subject matters.
    • Ability to conduct research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences
    • Ability to design and implement social media strategy to align with program goals and messaging
    • Monitors web traffic metrics

    SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:                         

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
    • SharePoint experience preferred.
    • Excellent writing, grammar, and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in social media metrics software.
    • Ability to work collaboratively and meet deadlines
    • Ability to think creatively and problem solve.
    • Capability to be productive with light supervision.
    • Multi-tasking expertise with understanding of how to prioritize for company results.
    • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office programs, Adobe Creative Suite, and Asana or similar project management tools
    • Familiarity with virtual event platforms (Zoom, WebEx, etc.)
    • Must have professional demeanor; be attentive to details and accurate in work completion.
    • Detail-orientated, organized and flexible
    • Passionate interest in emerging Social Media
