    Our  client is looking for an AutoCAD Detailer in their Schaumburg, IL office.

    A CAD detailer should be proficient in 2D and 3D AutoCAD skills with knowledge of Router CIM CNC software. Performs a variety of design/drafting activities, including preparing/updating installation drawings for projects, preparing assembly/construction drawings, establishing guidelines and procedures for CAD management, other duties to be performed as assigned. Attention to detail is required with good organizational skills. A detailer should have the ability to do or know the following:

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ability to accurately estimate the amount of time needed to complete an item or task.
    • Attend project meetings
    • Finish tasks assigned with in the allotted time.
    • Handle multiple projects at one time and meet the due date deadline.
    • Know common construction methods for typical items...ie counter, panels, pedestals, etc.
    • Possesses creative abilities
    • Layout booth spaces, create accurate dimensional drawings for electrical/ internet placement and carpet layouts.
    • Ability to program a CNC router should include the following:  Dado Depth, widths and locations Sizes of grommet holes, push lock and barrel locks Quantities Materials and Material thickness Call out pre-laminated pieces and adjust dado width needed
    • Review construction and set up prints with PM prior to releasing to shop

    Verify sizes on prints before sending to the shop Verify laminate call outs on prints before sending to shop Verify quantities on prints prior to sending to shop Verify all item numbers and job numbers are called out

    • Provide Shop with (3) 24”x36” Drawing and (1) set of 11”x17” (crating, CNC)
    • Inspect the work throughout the build process. Get out from behind the desk and physically look at the product being produced.
    • Maintain notes, design calculations and other documentation (like drawings, bill of materials) for future reference.
    • Works with Detailing Supervisor on guidelines for installation/construction drawings which meet and exceed the customer’s/shops requirements. Implement these requirements on drawings sent to the customer/shop.
    • Revise and update existing drawings reflecting client changes, to ensure consistent documentation of the project.
    • Review blueprints, plans, specifications and other documentation if a change is requested by the project manager.
    • Create graphics plan on set-up prints with actual image from graphic layout PDF files.
    • Create and put together a complete I&D package for the PM to ship with the booth.
    • Additional tasks as required

    Education and Knowledge/Experience:

    • Proficient in AutoCAD 2014 or greater
    • Basic knowledge of how to program CNC router software, Router CIM.
    • Excellent communications skills: interpersonal, listening, oral, and written
    • Able to generate layout drawings from sketches and specifications
    • Skilled in PC usage and associated software including Microsoft Office.
    • Knowledgeable of standard drafting practices and procedures.
    • Able to work with minimal supervision, efficiently schedule and manage time.
