    As a result of continued strong growth, our North America operations are now seeking applications for the position of Development Engineer to join our team in the Ontario, CA manufacturing facility. We operate at 4 locations with 2 shifts employing over 100 personnel. This role will report directly to Product Development Manager with a dotted reporting line to the Group General Manager - Product Development based in Brisbane, Australia.     The Development Engineer is responsible for supporting assigned customer accounts for the west coast United States, maintaining existing awarded programs and working with account representatives to support the award of new, expanded business.

    The Development Engineer will work with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, industrial designers, project managers and sales personnel to ensure the completion of each project from quotation and award through to delivery and after sales support of the product range.

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential to functions and duties include, but are not limited to: •    Program management of OEM and Aftermarket product development for the west coast. •    Account management of internationally & domestically sourced and manufactured products for US market. •    Fit-checking of parts, site validation with customers and independent laboratories. •    Reporting and recommending of engineering revisions to the PD team. •    Leading the development and maintenance of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) documentation, AutoCAD drawings, and customer timelines. •    Working directly overseas staff from the following EGR divisions: •    RPD •    ISD •    TPD •    APD •    Develop relationships with key staff from each division to assist in the development of: •    New products •    New concepts, •    A complete understanding of the processes and materials available to EGR •    Costs for parts, tooling and timeline to develop •    Limitations of supply and performance •    Presentation of new concepts, ideas and products to customer’s sales, marketing, and purchasing groups regularly, communicating new products and processes, while reinforcing the existing lines. •    Maintaining customer satisfaction by being the point of contact for quotes, issues, discrepancies, product training, updates or any needs from customers. •    Liaison with OEM and Aftermarket customers, purchasing, engineering, sales, marketing, quality, supply chain and warranty groups back to responsible parties within EGR, communicates issues and opportunities back to the Vice President - Sales. •    Coordinating with international & domestic tier 2 suppliers for development and supply. •    Performs other duties as assigned by their Manager.

    QUALIFICATIONS: •    Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field. •    Minimum 3+ years experience working with a manufacturer of mechanical parts. •    Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills •    Must have general knowledge ISO, TS or similar quality management system. •    Must have proficient knowledge of MS Office suite.
