    Job Description

    We are looking for a qualified IT Technician that will maintain our computer systems and networks aiming for the highest functionality. You will “train” users of the systems to make appropriate and safe usage of the IT infrastructure. A successful IT Technician must have a thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks and operating systems. The ideal candidate will have great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail. The goal is to maintain, updated and efficient computer systems and networks to optimize the role of technology on business sustainability.

     

    Selection Guidelines

    •     Associates degree in information systems or extensive experience (5 years or more) with information systems.
    •     Knowledge/experience in EDI, Linux, PHP, QAD
    •     Any combination of experience, education, and training that provides the level of knowledge, skills, and experience needed to successfully perform the job.

     

    Essential Responsibilities:

    •     Developing, maintaining, monitoring and improving EDI automation in QAD and third party systems.
    •     Meet project due dates.
    •     Testing, maintaining, and monitoring network, computer systems and programs and installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks,printers and scanners.
    •     Expanding or modifying IT systems to serve new purposes or improve workflow.
    •     Providing staff and users with assistance solving computer related problems.
    •     Document the system to ensure effective use and efficient ongoing maintenance.
    •     Actively monitoring all EDI automation and manual EDI activities and other automation activities.
    •     Run EDI edit lists.
    •     Ensuring the security of computer systems and overall network infrastructure.
    •     Coordination daily system backups.
    •     Initiative to identify issues/improvements and bring them to the attention of the IT manager.
    •     Responding in a timely manner to service issues and request.
    •     Providing technical support across the company, this may be in person or on the phone.
    •     Repairing and replacing equipment where necessary.
    •     Possible training more junior staff members on certain IT problem resolutions.
    •     Other duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications:

    •     Proficient skills in reading, writing and speaking in English.
    •     Excellent written and oral communications skills and techniques.
    •     Effective planning & organizing skills; ability to handle multiple tasks/duties.
    •     Proficient PC skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
    •     High degree of problem solving skills & attention to detail.
    •     Excellent time management / project management skills.
    •     Ability to maintain a positive, professional working relationship with peers, management and other individuals that interact with this position.
    •     Ability to adapt effectively to workplace changes and new job duties / responsibilities.
    •     Ability to represent the Company in a positive and professional manner at all times.
