Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Director – Maritime Industry
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) leader to drive safety strategy and performance across multiple high-risk industrial operations. This in-person role, based in Albany, NY, oversees a diverse EHS team supporting sectors such as maritime, construction, and mining.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development and execution of EHS programs to ensure regulatory compliance, environmental stewardship, and employee safety.
Identify risks, implement corrective actions, and reduce incident rates across all sites.
Foster a proactive safety culture focused on prevention, accountability, and training.
Oversee safety personnel and initiatives at multiple facilities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Establish robust training programs and support the development of a centralized training facility.
Collaborate with executive leadership to align EHS goals with broader organizational objectives and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in EHS leadership roles.
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or a related discipline.
In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and relevant safety standards.
Prior EHS experience in maritime, construction, or mining industries strongly preferred.
Must be able to travel as needed and have a valid driver’s license and passport or enhanced driver’s license (for international site access).
