    Position Summary:

    Bayport Laboratories LLC is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable EHS Specialist to support and lead key initiatives related to Environmental, Health, and Safety compliance at our cosmetic manufacturing facility. This role will be critical in maintaining regulatory compliance, ensuring workplace safety, and supporting our broader sustainability and continuous improvement goals.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable local and federal regulations.

    Conduct routine safety inspections, risk assessments, and internal audits across production, compounding, and warehousing areas.

    Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; prepare reports and implement corrective and preventive actions.

    Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS), hazardous material inventories, and chemical hygiene plans.

    Assist with environmental compliance reporting (e.g., Tier II, TRI, stormwater, air permits).

    Coordinate and deliver EHS training, including new hire orientation, chemical safety, PPE usage, and emergency response.

    Support waste management activities, ensuring proper disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality Assurance, Production, and Maintenance to drive a culture of safety and compliance.

    Track and report key safety metrics and regulatory deadlines.

    Stay current on EHS regulations and best practices; recommend improvements to policies and procedures.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.

    2–4 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment; experience in cosmetics, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing is highly preferred.

    Solid understanding of OSHA, EPA, and local environmental health & safety regulations.

    Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

    Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with EHS management systems is a plus.

    Professional certifications (e.g., CSP, ASP, CHMM) are a plus but not required.

    Preferred Experience:

    Familiarity with GMP and FDA-regulated environments. Knowledge of cosmetic formulation and chemical handling processes.
