Position Overview: Atlanta Prep is seeking a dedicated and patient One-on-One ELA Teacher to provide individualized English Language Arts instruction to students with diverse learning profiles. The ideal candidate will be passionate about literacy instruction, skilled in differentiating instruction, and committed to helping students build confidence and proficiency in reading and writing.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualized (1:1) ELA instruction tailored to each student’s academic level and learning style
Develop and implement engaging, student-centered lesson plans focused on reading, writing, and comprehension
Support foundational literacy skills including phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension
Break down complex language concepts into manageable, accessible steps
Collaborate with staff to support student goals
Track student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
Maintain a structured, positive, and supportive learning environme
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field
Strong understanding of foundational literacy and language development
Ability to differentiate instruction and use creative teaching strategies
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Patience, flexibility, and a passion for helping students succeed
Preferred, but Not Requred:
Experience working with students with special needs (preferred)
Background in special education or ABA environments (preferred)
Experience with individualized instruction or tutoring (preferred)
Familiarity with structured literacy approaches (preferred)
Schedule:
Full-time, aligned with the school calendar (less than 200 working days/ year)
Typical hours: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM (shorter workday)
