Job Description

This position works closely with other housing-focused land use planners and CEQA specialists to prepare complex and detailed written housing elements, general plan updates, as well as other planning documents. The ideal candidate will have experience helping public agencies, community leaders, and residents come together to resolve issues. Remote work is an option for employment.

REQUIRED:

• A bachelor’s degree in a field such as urban planning, environmental studies, geography, or a related discipline;
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills;
• Adaptability to contribute to diverse planning projects, including environmental review;
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively; and
• Minimum 3 years of related professional work experience in both preparation of housing elements and CEQA documents.

DESIRED:

• A master’s degree in a field such as urban planning, environmental studies, geography, or a related discipline;
• Five or more years of professional relevant experience; and
• Member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP)
