The chief responsibility of the Account Executive is to develop sales opportunities by cultivating relationships with Sales Partners. The Account Executive will market electricity, natural gas and associated energy products/services to Sales Partners and prospective clients throughout most deregulated energy markets in the U.S.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Manages assigned Sales Partner relationships and business
- Strives to meet and exceed monthly sales targets by successfully cultivating and managing Sales Partner relationships to encourage new and continued business
- Grows Sales Partner count through prospecting and referrals
- Maintains a pipeline of qualified opportunities to support quarterly and annual sales goals
- Working/Following-up on assigned leads from Marketing team and other sources
- Obtain understanding of Company products and services, competitive intelligence, industry information and market trends
- Market/Schedule/Coordinate Reverse Auction events to drive revenue
- Provides weekly updates on the expected deal closes via sales pipeline report
- Review usage data to ensure accurate pricing product structures, quote generation and savings analyses against utility tariffs/Price-to-Compare and other pricing benchmarks
- Represents EMEX at conferences and trade shows, as requested
- Advises clients of current and anticipated market trends
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Employs a consultative selling approach to market products to Sales Partners
- Thinks creatively to identify new Sales Partners, products, and sources of revenue as well as provide recommendations to the organization
- Determines customer needs, prepares, and presents proposals, recommends best product solution based on needs
- Strong business development skills
- Proficient in lead generation, prospecting, qualification, and opportunity cultivation
- Strong interpersonal and group presentation skills
- Ability to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Support & promote teamwork environment
- Self-motivated with the ability to work highly effectively with minimal supervision/remote management
- Exceptional listening and communication skills (phone, email, and in person)
- Outstanding relationship-building skills with a high degree of responsiveness and integrity
- Organized, detail oriented and self-motivated
- Understanding of the electricity markets in PJM and ERCOT
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1 - 3 years of retail energy or oil & gas industry experience
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year institution of higher education
