Senior Accountant
EMG Brands LLC seeks a Senior Accountant to be part of a cutting-edge accounting & finance team. EMG offers a unique opportunity to be part of building a state-of-the-art accounting package to an exploding industry. This individual should have knowledge in multiple aspects of accounting and be proficient in Excel. Our ideal candidate uses strong analytical skills to create detailed financial reports and forecasts. To succeed in this role, you should be a highly motivated self-starter who can work independently with minimal direction and be open to new and different challenges. Ultimately, you should be able to ensure financial reporting is accurate, effective and timely.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Conduct month-end and year-end close process
Assist with budget and forecasting activities
Reconcile general ledger accounts to detail
Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
Prepare financial statements, or other financial reports in conformance to reporting and procedural standards
Propose alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
Compare budgeted costs to actual costs by developing, maintaining, and analyzing budgets and preparing periodic reports
Remain up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
Communicate with others to convey information effectively
Maintain and develop relationships with clients
Gain knowledge and skills in client industries and activity
Participate in new client development
Enter, transcribe, record, store, or maintain information in written or electronic/magnetic form.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business required.
3-5 years of relevant accounting experience
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (managing spreadsheets and advanced formulas)
Experienced in QuickBooks preferred
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines
Ability to work independently, identify problems, propose viable solutions and perform research when needed
Must be flexible, able to work with others, detail oriented, strong communication skills
Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work
Attention to detail and accuracy
