    Business Development Overview

    This role will assist company growth and profitability through new customer acquisition, as well as by increasing current customer spend. This role requires a personal drive, tireless persistence, and business strategy experience. In the role of Business Development, you will have the unique opportunity to build our company’s brand and customer loyalty. Your skill set will be heavily utilized to expand business operations, recognize/realize potential partners, investors and develop organizational initiatives. Whether you are presenting an exciting and persuasive presentation, undertaking lead generation efforts or researching current trends to better understand the market, this position provides you with the chance to develop and strengthen your leadership, customer service, sales and communication skills.

    Responsibilities

    Prospecting, preparation, and presentation to clients.

    Generation of new leads with the intention of creating more sales/revenue.

    Lead and post-sale follow-up.

    Maintaining positive customer relationships post-sale.

    Eliciting continued and, ideally, increased spend with current customers.

    Work closely with designated inside sales team(s) to strategize more effective sales methods and processes.

    Build relationships with existing customers, investors, and partners through consistent follow-up, reliable communication and frequent updates on product developments.

    Study each product offered by the company and be able to persuasively educate and inform customers of how each works and its specifications; understand how to upsell.

    Mentor and train inside sales professionals about how to successfully market a product, create a need, close a sale and provide superior customer support. A streamline understanding of the process will lead to efficient processes between departments.

    Requirements and Qualifications

    3-5 years business to business sales

    Proven top performer

    Exceptional communication skills

    Motivation, perseverance, and determination qualities.

    A proven track record in strong presentation skills.

    An aptitude for research and analysis.

    Proficient in time management and personal organization.

    Excellent customer service and communication skills

    Team player

    B.S. in business/technical or equivalent in education and experience.

    Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected. This position requires up to 40% travel.

    High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.

    Ability to operate most standard office equipment.

    Proficient at working with CRM and Microsoft Office.

    Good to excellent spelling, grammar, and written communication skills.

    Excellent telephone and oral communication skills.
