REQUIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR OUR EMS INSTRUCTORS:
California driver license (Required)
BLS Provider (within 6 months)
AHA Instructor (Preferred)
EMT, Paramedic or Registered Nurse in California (Required)
Approved EMS Instructor Certification (Preferred)
Ability to work an 8-hour shift Monday-Friday (Required)
High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
1 year in EMS or as an instructor in EMS field (Required)
2 years experience as a pre-hospital EMT, paramedic or Registered Nurse (Preferred)
Acceptable driving record by Advantage’s insurance carrier (Required)
CEVO/EVOC certification (Preferred)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Developing and presenting EMS educational curriculum.
Maintaining the training room.
Ensure that all required forms and documents are completed in a timely manner.
Have the required capability and training to fulfill their duties.
Maintain all required training certificates.
Coordinate safety activities in cooperation with Advantage Safety program requirements as set by the Director of Risk Management.
Ensure that all training equipment is used with care and respect.
Ensure effective quality control and that corrective action takes place to be certain that complete customer satisfaction is achieved.
Prepare for and present courses being taught.
For CE courses ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed, and CE certificates are given to students at the end of the class.
Ensures that staff are scheduled and trained in accordance with company policies.
Assist in the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process.
Acts as the liaison between the Operations and Training Departments.
EMS INSTRUCTOR SKILLS:
Proven work experience as an EMS Instructor
Proficiency with computers including use of the internet, cloud based platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
Professional attitude and appearance
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
Excellent organizational skills
Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize daily changing tasks
Customer service attitude
Attention to detail
