    EMS Unlimited is seeking full-time Paramedics to work 48-hour shifts (48/96) in our Rifle Transport Division. After a winter of transports, you'll have access to additional opportunities working a vast assortment of special events, wildfire deployments, and many other exciting projects! The ALS members of our team are a critical component of the (Interfacility Transport) IFT environment, event standbys and much more.

    SCHEDULE: Full-time: 48/96

    EMS Unlimited provides valuable IFT services to rural facilities on the western slope of Colorado. We are building our CCT program and looking to expand our coverage agrea.

    Here is some of what you can expect from being an EMS Unlimited Paramedic – with us:

    The paramedic/critical care transport paramedic demonstrates advanced knowledge, skills and understands the unique aspects of long and short distance patient care. Utilize experience, education and training to independently deliver care to critically ill and/or injured patients in the ground transport environment.

    DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: SAFETY Awareness of and routinely practices safe work habits and adheres to current standards for clinical competence. Coordinates all aspects of patient care with the interdisciplinary team, including students when appropriate. Responsible for transport knowledge base including transport physiology, transport stressors and safety. Performs other duties as assigned.

    PRACTICE Delivers care in accordance with established standards of care/scope of practice. Provides direct patient care. Documents care completely and concisely and in a timely manner. Maintains confidentiality of patients and records.

    What qualifications are needed:

    Current Colorado Certified Paramedic required. Paramedic National Registry NREMT-P required. CCT/FP-C preferred and must be obtained within 6 months of hire. Current BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP also required at time of hire. Previous experience caring for patients of all age groups. Prefer previous critical care or flight transport experience. Able to articulate and demonstrate knowledge of emergency medicine/critical care theory and practice. Displays appropriate judgment and problem solving skills. Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers. Able to work independently and autonomously with practice guidelines and medical policies and procedures with minimal support or supervision within scope of practice and parameters set forth by state and governing agencies. Responsible for understanding and operating within the scope of practice for paramedics.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

    Must be able to work in highly dynamic environment with exposure to noise, vibration and weather extremes.

    Physical Requirements Able to lift using proper body mechanics. Activities may include: Lifting all size patients and equipment weighing up to into and out of transport vehicles with assistance. Carrying heavy equipment over a variety of terrains without assistance. May need to perform CPR for extended periods of time.

    Must possess: Valid CPR, Colorado Paramedic License, and valid drivers license.

    Must be 21 years of age or older to drive our ambulance.
