    Job Description

    Overview: We are seeking a Software Developer to work with its Software Development Team to build and maintain software applications for the natural gas industry. The candidate will work with ENSYTE’s Houston in-house staff on software design, development, testing, and maintenance; therefore, we are looking for an analytical “go getter” who can jump into our projects and begin producing solutions rapidly. 

    Responsibilities Include: •    Maintenance of current clients including bug fixes and enhancements; •    Taking over development and maintenance of web application; •    Front end design / user interface on web application; •    Maintenance of desktop application (WPF) using C#;  •    Using HTML5 / JavaScript coding on client side (Communicates with C# for server side);  •    Optimizing code / clean up old code; •    Using Model View Controller (MVC) for Creating Applications; •    Learning the MVC Product and Optimizing Where Possible; •    Reviewing & Analyzing Software Specification Documents; •    Troubleshooting Software Bugs & Performance Issues; •    Incorporating Best Practices in Software Development; •    Participating in Daily Scrum Calls with Project Team for Prioritization & Discussion; •    Working Directly with Clients Occasionally for Troubleshooting or Analysis; •    Eventually Support Company to Migrate Solution to Fully Web-Based Product.

    Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have knowledge of and hands-on experience with C#; however, experience with Java will be considered if the candidate can pick C# up quickly.   Experience with JavaScript is preferred.  A go-getter personality who wants to make an impact and has a standard of excellence for his / her work will thrive in this environment.  The ideal candidate will be willing to learn and work with existing code that may be out of date or need updating, as well as incorporate newer technologies.  Practice with improving overall efficiency / productivity is valuable, as well as developing queries in SQL to insert, extract and manipulate data in the backend of the software.  The position will be an integral part of the project team and will work closely with a small team of project managers, business analysts, testers, and sometimes the client directly.
