    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Reporting to the Vice President, Shared Services the Human Resources Generalist will assist managers, employees and candidates with questions they have regarding employee relations matters, orientations, training and development, performance management, and compensation (including perks and benefits). In addition, the Human Resources Generalist will lead and be an integral partner in monitoring and enhancing HR policies and practices to ensure that they align with ENTREC's Core Values, Strategy and Culture.  

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Assist with all day to day activities related to employee relations matters, including progressive discipline, performance management and development, workplace accommodations, investigating and resolving employee concerns, and administration of leave (medical, apprenticeship, etc.).
    • Maintain a high degree of ethics, discretion and confidentiality in all HR related matters.
    • Ensure collaboration and positive working relationships with internal clients by providing sound advice and recommendations that promote ENTREC's culture and core values.
    • Implement and provide advice related to ENTREC's HR policies, procedures, and strategies.
    • Investigate and stay informed of various legislation related to HR. 
    • Create and lead programs that promote an engaged work force, and positive work environment.  
    • Develop and deliver training sessions on various HR Topics, including New Hire Training and Orientations.
    • Investigate and administer compensation related matters; including the development and processing of new hire offer letters, notices of changes or internal transfers.
    • Create various employment letters (i.e. verifications of employment, acceptance of resignation letter, etc.).
    • Respond to various unemployment insurance claims.
    • Administer account creation and changes related to IT.
    • Assist with bookings of Drug and Alcohol test via Driver Check or DISA, and administer any Substance Abuse Agreements, and/or Random Programs.
    • Assist (when required) with the recruitment process from beginning to end, including the creation of position profiles, job postings, selection of candidates, designing of interview questions, conducting references check and verification of offer letters.
    • Maintain and audit employee listings for branches.
    • Conduct Exit Interviews.
    • Data reporting for management.
    • Conduct other tasks related to various HR projects or initiatives.

     

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Proof of a Bachelor's Degree with a specialization in Human Resources. An acceptable level of education, training and experience may be considered if it is deemed comparable to that of a degree.
    • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in employee/labor relations, in particular with handing employee concerns, assisting managers with the progressive discipline process, and performance management, as well as leading investigations related to HR.
    • A proven track record in delivering top quality customer service by going above and beyond for internal and external clients.
    • Demonstrable knowledge of employment legislation, as well as trends and challenges related to HR.
    • Ability to communicate and problem solve.
    • Ability to analyze, synthesize and formulate strategic advice and/or recommendations.
    • Ability to demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence and relationship building skills with a variety of stake holders.
    • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. 
    • Strong organization skills with the ability to plan and prioritize.
    • Effective Interpersonal Skills.
    • Teamwork.
    • Initiative.

    ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:

    • CPHR designation.
    • SHRM designation.
    • Experience in a unionized environment.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Must be able to travel and work within Canada and the United States.
    • Must be committed and able to work overtime on an on-call basis.
