Assistant to Principal Director - Luxury Retail Showroom (Furniture & Lighting) Salary Range: $42,000 - $48,000 Annual Location: New York, NY (On-site)
Cosulich Interiors & Antiques, a family-run business specializing in unique vintage and contemporary Italian furnishings, lighting, and décor, is seeking a Full-Time Assistant to the Principal Director. This role supports daily business operations and ensures a seamless luxury experience for our clients, including interior designers, decorators, and private collectors.
As a key member of our showroom team, you will help manage client relationships, coordinate logistics, and support the Principal Director in all aspects of business operations. We seek a proactive, organized, and personable individual with a passion for design, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities Manage client communications via email and phone, including order follow-ups, shipment updates, and service inquiries. Handle client transactions, maintain accurate order records, and coordinate with shippers for quotes, bookings, and delivery schedules. Provide post-sale support, resolve client issues in collaboration with management, and ensure an exceptional customer experience. Maintain and update the CRM system, inventory sheets, and delivery documentation. Prepare daily and weekly reports for management and ensure all open tasks are tracked to completion. Support administrative operations, including ordering office supplies, recording expenses, and assisting with showroom events. Research and liaise with service providers as needed. Engage with new and existing trade members, follow up on leads, and request client reviews to strengthen relationships.
Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or GED required; degree preferred. Experience in a high-end furniture, lighting, or design showroom, highly desirable. Strong organizational and multitasking skills with keen attention to detail. Professional, articulate communicator with a client-first attitude. Knowledge of basic accounting (percentages, discounts, taxes). Familiarity with Mac software suite (Mail, Pages, Numbers), Chrome, Safari, and WhatsApp. Comfortable working in an open-layout luxury retail environment. Demonstrated ability to follow processes, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Prior experience as a personal assistant, executive secretary, or office manager is a plus. Passion for interior design and Italian craftsmanship is strongly valued.
