We are partnered with an international organization offering operational services in the transportation industry. We are seeking a candidate for a Safety & Compliance Manager Aviation position near the Miami International Airport.

The candidate should have:

Bachelor's degree or three to five years minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience in the Aviation industry in Safety and Compliance

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

Prefer experience in OSHA, MSHA, DOT and EPA regulatory requirements.

Experience in training desirable.

Ability to travel 30%+

Job Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures and to help achieve profitability/productivity requirements.

Responsibility for development, implementation, and maintenance of the Safety Management System.

Ensuring System Management System (SMS) is properly implemented in all areas of the organization and performing in accordance with specified requirements.

Manages that systems, programs, processes, procedures and/or plans are implemented throughout the organization.

Ensures ground operations at all locations are supervised and controlled.

Assures all operations are conducted according to applicable industry regulations and requirements.

Responsibility for defining lines of accountability for operational safety, compliance, quality assurance and security throughout the organization, including direct accountability on the part of senior management.

Responsibility for ensuring ground operations at all stations are provided with the necessary resources and conducted in accordance with standards of the Provider, with all applicable regulations, and requirements.

Assists, plans, and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT).

Conduct all tasks in accordance with written operation and safety procedures.

Will advise safety director on safety compliance concerns and preventative actions.

Plans and implements training for employees in work site safety practices.

Maintains safety files and records, performs safety surveys and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures were indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.

Conducts post-accident investigation and prepares report identifying accident causes and hazards for use by company personnel and senior management.

Assist, set up and conduct training.

Assist in the development, evaluation and upgrading of safety programs.

Assist and maintain environmental reports including Storm water permits, SPCC etc.
