General Responsibilities:
It is the responsibility of all EOAC employees to support EOAC’s mission and goals, to respect the confidentiality of all who come to us for information or assistance, and to personally maintain the dignity and integrity of one who is placed in a position of public trust. We all bear the responsibility of improving the organization, communicating openly and empowering each other to excel at our work and maintain confidentiality of client/agency information as required by State and Federal laws, appropriate regulations, and professional practice standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
Must have two (2) years supervisory experience with early childhood staff (0-5), in a child development program, at least 1,000 hours of classroom management experience
Must have experience in maintaining detailed records
Should have the knowledge and ability to apply developmentally appropriate practices for young children in a classroom, playground, and bus setting
Must have excellent verbal and writing communication skills
Must be able to travel between sites to complete work responsibilities
Must be able to maintain records on a computer system and maintain required documents related to child outcomes tracking
Must be responsible and able to handle confidential material, able to organize effectively, and able to work independently
Must clear FBI and background check and pass a negative Drug and Alcohol screen
Must have a reliable automobile for travel, a valid Texas Driver’s license, and liability insurance at all times
There should be no prior convictions of child abuse/neglect
Must obtain Adult and Pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications within 60 days from date of hire
Work schedule may include nights and weekends for training purposes
Must have the physical capability, strength and coordination adequate to work with early childhood (0-5)
Must be able to perform occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
Specific Responsibilities:
Schedule time in assigned classrooms to individualize services to children; particularly language and literacy growth
Provide guidance t and ongoing communication with Center directors
Stay current on issues in developmentally appropriate practices for pre-school students
Attend Admission, review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings
Be or become the expert with and implement Creative Curriculum for Head Start and Early Head Start
Ensure that classroom staff utilizes Creative Curriculum and other curricular materials when planning child activities, both child and adult initiated
Monitor IEP and IFSP goals for children (0-5)
Make scheduled visits to classrooms to enhance literacy, language, and program outcomes
Assist in developing and maintaining tracking/documentation and reporting systems
Monitor effectiveness and timeliness of teacher reporting according to pre-determined schedules
Track and evaluate child data to examine curriculum and instructional program effectiveness
Monitor teacher reports on screenings, assessments, parent conferences, home visits and all other reports determined necessary to meet federal Head Start and Early Head Start guidelines
Support IEP and IFSP goals for children with guidance and assistance from the Special Services Manager, the Local Education Association (LEA) and Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) program
Contact LEA’s or other service providers monthly to ensure individual goals and outcomes are being met
Work together as a team with the Children services Coordinator and Center Directors to identify and address areas that require training, documenting or other issues related to outcome measures and related services
Schedule and organize time to allow for classroom visits to ensure that teachers are meeting individualized goals for children in classrooms
Participate in staffing as needed
Follow step-by-step activities as outlines in content areas plan, policies and procedures
Conduct conferences on children and classroom issues with parents and teachers
Develop quarterly reports to show progress of children or lack of and with Children Services Coordinator, develop improvement plan for classroom staff and children
Participate in professional development, sometimes off-site, at the request and support of supervisor
