    Job Status: Full-Time; $29,785.60 - $37,106.78, depending on experience and qualifications.

    Classification: Non-Exempt

    General Responsibilities:

    Essential Functions:

    Maintain confidentiality of client/agency information as required by State and Federal laws, appropriate regulations, and professional practice.

    Must be able to communicate effectively to individuals/groups in both verbal and written form. ex: coworkers, clients, the public, and suppliers/vendors.

    Follow policies and procedures that govern the accounting/finance function of the organization; following the principles of governmental accounting, including budgeting, cost reporting, taxation, etc.

    Follow all financial requirements of program/grant as required by funding source, federal and state law.

    Verifying the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records.

    Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable, etc.). Enters data into accounting software, as instructed. Compile data and prepare reports. Investigates questionable data and reports questionable data to CFO and Assistant Controller or designee. Recommends actions to resolve discrepancies.

    Ensure all documents are properly signed and distributed.

    Assist with account reconciliations. Process bills, checks, receipts, and other documents as required. Verify financial and other data (tax identification numbers, W9’s, etc.)

    Monitor financial transactions.

    Ensure that an adequate supply of accounting supplies and equipment are on hand to meet the day-to-day operational needs of the department, reporting equipment or office supply needs to the Assistant Controller or designee.

    Maintain confidentiality of all corporation information.

    Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

    Maintains compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations.

    Complete payment vouchers, reconcile Voucher payments and review paperwork for accuracy.

    Pull data/entering data for reports and prepare/compile/submit reports.

    Ordering supplies/Payment processing, Travel arrangements/Payment processing.

    Assist with yearly reports (CAP, etc.), Maintain vendor agreements.

    Assist in the development of documents and events to promote public awareness of EOAC.

    Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director, Assistant Controller and/or CFO.

    Work Environment

    This job operates in a professional office environment with ambient lighting, and climate control. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

    The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    High School Diploma or GED.

    Two (2) years’ experience in a business environment of bookkeeping related areas of accounts payable, cash disbursements, requisition, purchase orders, and/or payroll.

    Must be able to pass Criminal History check including FBI fingerprint and DFPS background check.

    Must pass all pre-employment contingencies including post-offer pre-employment physical, and alcohol and drug screen.

    Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

    Previous experience with accounting software.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Prior experience in grant accounting and Federal grant requirements is preferred.

    Associate degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field.

    Previous experience with Abila MIP and Skyward.

    Travel:

    Ability to travel when required.

    Other Duties:

    Perform all other duties as deemed necessary by the Executive Director, CFO and/or Assistant Controller.

    Work Schedule:

    This is a full-time position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
