    Job Description

    EON Consulting, LLC is a Managed Service Provider (MSP) and IT consulting firm based in Denton, TX. Our support team is responsible for the day-to-day support, ongoing maintenance, and long-term planning for the network infrastructure and IT assets of hundreds of small and medium-sized businesses both in the DFW area and across the country. Our clients trust us to serve as their IT department, and we’re looking for an additional team member who’ll bring new skill sets and knowledge to the table.

    This new team member will be responsible for ensuring our clients’ technical needs and overall expectations are met or exceeded. This position includes service ticket response and resolution across multiple clients as per service level agreements. Our new team member will be trained and required to effectively maintain and troubleshoot Microsoft domain environments including both workstation and server systems as well as cloud-based solutions both remotely and occasionally onsite when needed (local travel only). This includes the drive, initiative, and capacity to:

    • Identify, research, and resolve incoming issues and/or questions related to computer systems, end-user software and hardware, network/internet connectivity, server services, remote desktop services sessions, etc. across multiple client networks independently and in a timely manner
    • Document, track, and monitor ongoing issues with limited supervision
    • Support Windows desktop and server operating systems, cloud-based productivity applications (Microsoft 365, etc.), and macOS systems (on occasion)
    • Support basic network infrastructure such as firewalls, switches, and wireless access points
    • Review alerts and notifications generated by our remote monitoring and management (RMM) systems and resolve accordingly
    • Perform proactive maintenance on servers, workstations, and other network infrastructure
    • Take ownership of, monitor, and maintain centralized client management platforms (anti-virus/security, Microsoft 365, network/wireless controllers, RMMs, etc.)
    • Maintain systems and client environment documentation on an ongoing basis
    • Prepare new equipment for onsite deployment (servers, firewalls, etc.)
    • Perform network printer configuration, installation/implementation, and maintenance (via GPO, Intune, etc.)
    • Monitor backup systems and perform data recovery when needed
    • Maintain client systems, applications, security, and network configurations
    • Coordinate with and support other team members on more complex projects
    • Communicate with clients frequently to ensure understanding of project/task requirements including status updates and develop resolution/implementation strategy
    • Support our management team in nurturing existing and future client relationships

     

    Required Skills & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field or Associate degree with relevant certification(s) and/or extensive direct experience
    • 2-5+ years IT Support experience (computer, server, and network troubleshooting, etc.)
    • Ability to effectively and efficiently troubleshoot technical problems
    • Strong time management skills
    • Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills
    • Knowledge of Windows server and desktop operating systems
    • Knowledge of basic networking principles (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, SMTP, VLAN, etc.)
    • Knowledge of server hardware and software
    • Knowledge of VOIP phone systems
    • Deep understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite
    • Positive attitude, timeliness, and willingness to learn
    • Experience with small-scale server/desktop virtualization (Hyper-V, etc.) preferred
    • General understanding of and the ability to install/troubleshoot mail systems (Exchange, Outlook, etc.)
    • Basic knowledge and familiarity with the macOS X operating system
    • Basic understanding of iOS and Android Mobile Platforms (limited end-user support)
    • Firm understanding of basic network security best practices
    • Reliable transportation for occasional onsite client visits (local)

    Desired Skills & Experience

    • Managed Services Provider experience a plus (not required)
    • Microsoft Certification(s) a plus (not required)
    • Cisco Certification(s) a plus (not required)
    • Azure Active Directory Experience a plus (not required)
    • Experience with ConnectWise Automate / Labtech a plus (not required)
    • Experience with Azure Active Directory Services at plus (not required)
    • Ability to install and configure Microsoft SQL Server environments (not required)
