Our Torrance, CA location is hiring for a Associate Portfolio Manager. The Associate Portfolio Manager works closely with Senior Portfolio Managers and advisors to manage investments of client accounts. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with Investment Director and other senior members of the team to administer investments in client accounts
- Work as needed as part of the portfolio management team to support trading and portfolio management functions
- Work on model changes and rebalancing for non-Tamarac accounts
- Monitor asset allocation of client accounts and conduct rebalancing utilizing trade order management system as necessary
- Monitor cash levels in client accounts and adjust as necessary
- Produce periodic reports from trade order management system as necessary
- Work with compliance to document and report on trading activity
- Assist with other compliance related tasks
- Enter, maintain and report on data in portfolio management system
- Collaborate with Financial advisors to enter and analyze data in investment portfolio proposals as necessary
- Provide progress reports to manager and senior team members communicating timelines, delays, projected and mitigated issues, and outcomes
- Perform duties consistent to plan and within a professional framework representing the Company's goals and objectives
- Perform additional duties as necessary in order to support and enhance investment department objectives
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures and perform business functions with focus on consistency, quality, and compliance
QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate degree required, preferably in business, finance or economics related major; participation in the CFA program preferred
- 3-5 years experience in investment related field; portfolio management and/or securities trading experience
- Strong interest and knowledge in financial planning and wealth management
- Interpersonal skills, productive working within a team structure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and exercise discretion without immediate supervision at all times
- Ability to multi-task under pressure, prioritize workflow and assignments in a deadline oriented environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to organize and present data; strong Excel and/or programming skills a plus
- Experience with Tamarac or other trade order / portfolio management software
- Experience with Bloomberg, Morningstar, Schwab, TDAmeritrade, and Fidelity platforms
