    Technical Writer (Mortgage Background) We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Writer with experience in mortgage underwriting and policy development to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mortgage underwriting practices, along with demonstrated expertise in formulating policies, procedures, guidelines, and matrices within the mortgage industry. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance within our organization's documentation management. Responsibilities: • Collaborate with subject matter experts, including mortgage underwriters, compliance officers, and legal counsel, to gather information and insights for documentation. • Develop, revise, and maintain comprehensive documentation, including policies, procedures, guidelines, matrices, and training materials, related to mortgage underwriting practices. • Ensure that all documentation adheres to industry regulations, company policies, and best practices. • Translate complex mortgage underwriting concepts and procedures into clear, concise, and accessible language for various audiences, including underwriters, management, and external stakeholders. • Conduct thorough research and analysis to stay abreast of changes in mortgage underwriting regulations, industry trends, and best practices, and incorporate findings into documentation as needed. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency. • Provide guidance and support to stakeholders regarding the interpretation and implementation of mortgage underwriting policies and procedures. Qualifications: • Proven experience (2+ years) working as a Technical Writer, preferably in the mortgage industry, with a focus on policy and procedure and underwriting documentation. • In-depth knowledge of mortgage underwriting processes, guidelines, regulations, and industry standards. • Strong understanding of policy development and documentation best practices. • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely. • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and other documentation software tools. • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality in documentation. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects with tight deadlines. • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience working with mortgage origination and underwriting software systems (e.g., Encompass, Calyx Point). • Familiarity with regulatory agencies and guidelines governing mortgage underwriting, such as Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, and USDA. Compensation: $80,000 - $85,000
