    EQ3 is an innovative leader in furniture and accessory design with retail locations across Canada and the US and a rapidly growing e-commerce presence. We are seeking a REPAIR TECHNICIAN to join our growing REPAIR TECHNICIAN team. This is a full-time position located at the EQ3 NEW YORK CITY location in CHELSEA. The Repair Technician will be responsible for the repair and restoration process of assembled furniture and upholstery in accordance with EQ3 standards.

    THE SKILLS YOU'LL NEED:

    • Experience with upholstery is an asset
    • High School Diploma or G.E.D. is preferred
    • Good communication, customer services, and problem-solving skills
    • Must have own vehicle for transportation and the transportation of equipment
    • Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
    • Ability to work independently and seek out assistance as required
    • Ability to lift up to 70lbs
    • Ability to stand for long periods of time
    • Comfortable working with hands and displays an aptitude for craftsmanship and professionalism

    MORE ABOUT THE ROLE:

    • Arrange service appointments with customers and perform follow up calls
    • Follow EQ3 procedures effectively, including timely updates and parts ordering if required
    • Maintain a clean and orderly work area
    • Repair wood, leather and upholstered furniture
    • Examine furniture to determine the extent of damage or deterioration, conducting quality inspections on products and parts to decide on the best method for repair or restoration
    • Work with a team to assemble entire products or components and prepare finished products for shipment
    • Remove old finishes and damaged or deteriorated parts, using hand tools that are not limited to: power drills and power screwdrivers. stripping tools, sandpaper, steel wool, abrasives, screwdrivers, or staple guns
    • Recommend woods, colors, finishes, and furniture styles, using knowledge of wood products, fashions, and styles.
    • Identify and communicate suggestions for improvement with our products
