    Position Overview

    As an Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN), you will provide prompt, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to patients facing a wide range of urgent health conditions. You will play a critical role in patient assessment, triage, stabilization, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform rapid assessments and deliver critical care to patients with medical, surgical, and trauma emergencies

    • Accurately triage patients according to clinical urgency using established protocols

    • Administer medications, IV fluids, and emergency interventions under physician orders

    • Collaborate closely with ER physicians, specialists, and support staff to coordinate care

    • Document all patient care activities, interventions, and outcomes in electronic medical records (EMR)

    • Maintain a calm and reassuring presence in high-stress scenarios for patients and families

    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, compliance with policies, and safety protocols

    • Support fellow team members and foster a culture of empathy, respect, and professional growth

    Qualifications

    • Current RN license in the state of Iowa (or compact state license)

    • Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ASN or BSN) required

    • ACLS, BLS, and PALS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)

    • TNCC or ENPC preferred

    • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in emergency or critical care preferred

    • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and critical thinking skills
