Position Overview:
Priority Group Services is seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Dietitian to join our healthcare team. The Registered Dietitian will play a key role in providing expert nutritional guidance, assessments, and counseling to patients to promote healthy lifestyles and manage specific health conditions.
Responsibilities:
Nutritional Assessment and Planning:
- Conducting comprehensive nutritional assessments for patients based on medical histories, lab results, and individual needs.
- Developing personalized nutrition plans to address patients' specific health goals or medical conditions.
Nutrition Counseling and Education:
- Providing individual or group counseling sessions to educate patients on healthy eating habits, dietary modifications, and lifestyle changes.
- Offering guidance on managing conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and other health-related issues through nutrition.
Patient Monitoring and Support:
- Monitoring patients' progress and adherence to nutrition plans.
- Offering ongoing support, motivation, and guidance to facilitate patients' achievement of their nutritional goals.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborating with healthcare teams to integrate nutritional strategies into comprehensive patient care plans.
- Communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals regarding dietary recommendations and progress.
Requirements:
- Valid New Jersey Registration as a Dietitian is mandatory.
- Compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations including those set by the New Jersey Department of Health, Office of Inspector General, Medicaid/Medicare, Corporate Compliance, PEOSHA, and Priority Group Services Policies and Procedures.
- Clinical experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in nutrition counseling and education.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and counseling skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with electronic medical records systems or nutritional software.
- Specialized certifications or training in areas such as sports nutrition, pediatric nutrition, or geriatric nutrition.
- Membership in professional dietetic associations.
